Right from the start, you'll know how to make sure you have a backup of your site and how to use it! This gives you freedom to play and explore, knowing that you have a safe backup. It's kind of like setting a Save point in a game, so even if you take a wrong turn you never have to start over from scratch.
We'll start with how to get a basic Wordpress site and how to install custom themes, including the Divi theme. If you've never created any kind of site before, you'll know how to do it after this course.
If you're already comfortable with this part, don't worry! This won't be boring for you. We'll cover specifics of different hosting platforms, look in-depth at customization options, and you're guaranteed to learn something you didn't know.
Branding: Colors, Fonts, Vibe
If you've tried to create a site before and just felt lost, it might be because you skipped this step. The most important part of making a website actually happens before you even start on the site itself. You'll learn how to create a cohesive brand that communicates your brand story without needing to use any words at all.
From quizzes to checklists to moodboards, you'll know all the ins and outs of creating a brand for yourself or for a client.
Divi Theme Mastery
Using the Divi theme puts design mastery within your reach, without having to know a single line of code. You can accomplish literally anything you want to create on a website using the functionality of Divi modules. We'll dive deep into this power of the theme to make sure you feel comfortable creating whatever you can imagine.
In Just 8 Weeks, You'll Learn:
Hopefully, it's obvious that you want as many people as possible to be able to access your website. You want to be sure that your site makes sense to people who use screen readers, or who have dyslexia, or who have restricted hearing, or any other way they might be different from you. Fortunately, there are some straightforward ways to accomplish this, and we'll make sure any site you build is compliant with the current Best Practices (and we'll make sure you understand why those are the recommendations.)
Your website is going to need some words! There are two broad categories we'll cover: sales/marketing copy (including some things you might not realize are marketing, like your "About" page), and more educational content like blog posts. For many people, this is the most challenging part of creating a website, and copywriting is one of the most lucrative services you can offer to clients. By the end of this course, you will have improved your writing skills significantly, both as a copywriter and as a content writer, and you'll have a complete, SEO-optimized website.
Want Complete Control Over Your Website?
No matter where you're starting from now, by the end of this course you will be able to create a website from start-to-finish. If you already know the basics, you'll level up your skills by several levels.
The course is 8 weeks long. Each week you'll be sent a step-by-step video walkthrough of your tasks for the week, to follow at your own pace. You'll also have access to a live Q-and-A session with your expert instructors, where everyone can get real-time help with anything. And you'll also have access to an exclusive co-working Zoom space where you can meet with your fellow students and work on your projects together.
All live events will be offered as many times per week as necessary to make sure there is a session at a reasonable time in your time zone, so you can be sure it will work for you.
This course is comprehensive and accessible even to brand new beginners, but it's not going to be easy. You'll be expected to spend at least 2 hours a week on homework, and you could spend much more than that on it if you wish.
Each week you will submit your progress for feedback from your instructors, who will be able to offer weekly pointers that apply to you personally. Optionally, at the end of the course, if you want to go live with your project site, you will be able to meet for a one-on-one feedback session with the instructor to make sure everything is ready to go.
At the end of 8 weeks, you will have a completely finished, SEO-optimized, beautiful site ready to go live, if you want it. And you will have the skills to repeat the process as many times as you want, to build additional sites for yourself or to offer as a service to your clients.

She now heads Archipelago Communications, providing high-level copywriting to prominent companies, while also managing her passion project - the Digital Nomad Writing Club, where she has teaches intensive small cohorts of students the skills and practices to become professional online writers.
DeAnna is based in the Pacific Northwest of the US, where she's been running her digital marketing agency for 8 years, and working as a Wordpress specialist for 15 years. As the founder of Team Five, Inc., she creates and manages sites as the outsourced tech team for several multi-million dollar corporations. She's also a skilled teacher, having worked in passion projects from teaching wilderness skills to tutoring math and English. (If you need to learn how to start a fire by rubbing sticks together, she's your gal!)
This is the first time ever that this collaboration between the Digital Nomad Writing Club and Team Five, Inc. is being offered. The material covered in this 8-week course is worth well over $500, and we are offering it to you as a beta round at just $99!
What's the catch? There is only one. As part of your homework every week, you will be asked to complete a short survey asking you about your experience. This should take you an extra 25-30 minutes to fill out each week. In exchange for that feedback, you get the full course at a more than 80% discount. Plus, as our valued first cohort you will get first dibs on future courses at a significant discount, and the opportunity to repeat this same course for free as many times as you would like to take it in the future.
As I'm typing this, I'm literally thinking, "Wait, is this too good?" So, you should probably sign up before we change our minds! I'm kind of teasing about that, but I'm not teasing about the short window to sign up. We are only accepting enrollments for this beta round for a very short time. If you don't sign up by January 20th, you'll miss your chance.
